Clay Summer Class 2024

This summer I taught ceramics classes at a new art studio in town. The staff, teachers and students are amazing. I truly landed in a fantastic spot and am more than grateful to be there. I taught two classes, one for students aged 4-6 and the other 7-11. I also assisted two instructors in week-long clay camps. Through this process, I learned about my new studio and what creations were possible with the supplies and how the studio functioned as a whole. I also learned new ways to hand build with clay. This summer was invaluable and I was so lucky to be paired with instructors that taught me so much.

We used stoneware clay and glazed with Mayco stroke and coat. Credit to Cassie Stephens for the chameleon sculpture, they turned out great. Her YouTube link is below.

It was great getting back into the "clay swing of things." The smell of the clay, the silence of students focused and working, the excitement of the projects to create. It was an amazing time.
